Monday’s visit

Dave and Chris Richards and Mats Nordén went visit to Håkan Monday 4th May.

O how encouraged we were today! Håkan had his first meal! A little fish, potatoes and sauce, but he doesn't feel hungry, as he's been fed good nutrients so far.

I could see much progress since our first visit in the early days after the fire. A lot of the swelling is down. He is bandaged from chest down but he now moves his arms. His lungs are doing well. He can see and we had conversations! All in two hours either side of his first lunch. Hallelujah!

His voice is different, as he speaks through his throat, but his spirit and sense of humour are still Håkan. His English was amazing and he spoke it more than he spoke Swedish! Mats and Chris were seeing him for the first time. Mats says, “Håkan was very lucid and that made us glad. The nurse says they will feed him less through the tube and then he will get hungry for more real food.”

Håkan has been living in his spirit in Psalm 23, so we said it together after he had amusingly said to me, “Bishop, say the Blessing!” We told him of the excellent Nordic Conference we had just finished in Horred and how thrilled he would be to have seen his hard work and prayers answered. Håkan was very moved several times. We reminded him of Hebrews 6:10 “For God is not so unjust as to overlook your work and the love which you showed for His sake in serving the saints, as you still do.”

Pray for continued healing for his head, particularly the back area. Pray for a rest of faith to be Håkan's so that the healing continues. Chris asked what Håkan wanted us to pray for and selflessly he asked us to pray that Gunilla would not be overstretched having to do so many things! Please keep praying with us! We need you and we greatly appreciate your prayers and our Incredible God who is answering them.
